Students may require multiple computer accounts depending on the course(s) they take. This list includes information on how to obtain accounts for both online and on-campus courses. All accounts are terminated at the end of each semester.
Email Accounts:
- A significant number of communications concerning the new
Student Information System will be delivered to students via email.
Information about the availability of class schedules, grade reports
and financial awards that can be accessed using ISIS, the Web-Based
Self-Service will be sent to students via email.
To address this change in practice, UMass Lowell has implemented a new, robust email system and assigned UML email addresses to all students, including those enrolled in continuing studies courses. In addition, a new policy has been approved that supports email as an official means of communication and assigns responsibility to students for maintaining their UML email accounts.
Effective immediately, students should be using their UML accounts with the @student.uml.edu suffix to ensure they receive timely communications from the University. Please see http://www.uml.edu/it/studentmail/live-mail-faq.html and check the student email link. New students will receive a letter from the Information Technology Office with their new UML email address.

To find out your ISIS User ID (and also to find out what your student email address is if it doesn't follow the usual email address syntax of FirstName_LastName@student.uml.edu), visit http://isis.uml.edu and follow the link for "Get Your User ID" (no dashes and no spaces if entering your ss#).
Online Course Username & Password:
- All students enrolled in an online course for the current semester, must complete an online "Get Your Online Course Username & Password" at https://continuinged.uml.edu/online.
- If you forget your username/password anytime during the semester, you can repeat this process to obtain the information again.
FTP or Expression Web Accounts:

- These accounts are set up automatically for courses which need them. These accounts are accessed by using your UMass Lowell online course username/password.
